A delegation from Europa Radicale, consisting of Igor Boni, Francesco Iannuzzi, Silvja Manzi and Chiara Squarcione, arrived in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi on October 25 to monitor the electoral process. They are the only Western political activists present in Georgia, providing support and solidarity to Georgian democrats during this crucial moment for the country’s future.

“This evening, we unfurled our banner reading ‘GEORGIA IS NOT RUSSIA’ in front of the Georgian Parliament, alongside dozens of protesters, to support Georgia’s path toward Europe, which is under threat from the arrogance of the ruling party, ‘Georgian Dream,’ representing a genuine Russian nightmare. As highlighted by international observers today, the electoral process has been marred by fraud, intimidation, and both physical and verbal violence at polling stations. The majority claimed by ‘Georgian Dream’ would fully cement Georgia’s return to the Russian sphere of influence, undermining the European aspirations of the Georgian people.

We await the address from President Zourabishvili (6pm Italian time) to understand what will transpire in the coming hours—critical hours for Georgia, the Caucasus region, and all of Europe. During our demonstration, many Georgians approached us to express their gratitude for our support.”
