On Friday, May 9, from 3 to 5 pm, in Independence Square (at Maidan), Europa Radicale is organizing the initiative EUROPE REBORN IN KYIV!, the first demonstration of European citizens in the capital of Ukraine
On Europe Day, in Kyiv, Europa Radicale is promoting a demonstration entitled EUROPE REBORN IN KYIV!
Dozens of Italian citizens and parliamentarians will be present, as well as an official delegation from the Municipality of Milan. Citizens from other European countries who have joined the initiative and who will reach Kyiv from Berlin, Brussels, London, Paris, Manchester, Amsterdam will also participate.
Senator Ivan Scalfarotto will also be part of the group, who will join Ukrainian parliamentarians from the majority and opposition who have announced their presence; there will be the former parliamentarian Marco Taradash, the president of the City Council of Milan Elena Buscemi as an official representative of the Municipality of Milan, the city councilor of Milan Gianmaria Radice, the writer Elena Kostioukovitch. There will be Igor Boni and Federica Valcauda, coordinator and treasurer of Europa Radicale together with part of the management group of the association starting with Silvja Manzi and Massimiliano Melley. Representatives of the European Federalist Movement, the Ventotene Committee and Europafutura will participate.
The aim is to reiterate in the Ukrainian capital, which is today the heart of Europe, support for the resistance, to ask that Ukraine enter the EU as soon as possible and that European states protect Ukraine, promoting a No Fly Zone in the skies of the country to stop bombs, drones and missiles. We will be in the square to ask that Russian war crimes be prosecuted by the International Criminal Court and that Putin be arrested and tried.
During the event, a huge European Union flag will be opened on which the names of the Ukrainian journalist Victoria Roshchyna, tortured and brutally murdered by the Russians, of the Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya, killed by the criminal regime in Moscow for her words of truth about Putin’s crimes, and of the Italian journalist of Radio Radicale, Antonio Russo, killed by the Russian secret services for the evidence he had collected on the use of unconventional weapons in the second Chechen war, will be written.
Europa Radicale is an association born in Italy that has the primary objective of defending democracy and the rule of law and human rights, with a transnational approach. The United States of Europe is the most important goal. The Radicals have been denouncing Russian crimes for over 35 years, on which we have produced a dossier entitled: Russia, criminal regime.
