May 9th is Europe Day, to celebrate peace and unity in Europe. A date that marks the anniversary, this year the 75th, of the Schuman Declaration that gave birth to what is now the European Union and which, at the time, represented the futuristic idea of a peaceful union of States that would have preserved them from future wars.
Aware of the importance of this Day, a month ago we launched a European demonstration of European citizens and personalities on May 9th in the Ukrainian capital: Europe reborn in Kyiv!
We will be in the heart of Europe, where they are also fighting for our freedoms, in the capital of the country that for over three years has suffered from Putin’s Russia an aggression unprecedented since the Second World War.
President Zelensky himself recently invited European leaders to Kyiv on the occasion of Europe Day and at a time when Russian leaders are reacting to that proposal with derision, we say: we will be there!
